We were recommended to Mark and Ellen via a good friend of theirs, who we had worked with previously. We had completed a first-floor conversion to their detached bungalow, producing a wonderful home.
We were excited to get started with Mark and Ellen’s front extension, and we knew how impactful it would be to the frontage of the property.
On the ground floor, the project included creating an office area, a shower room and a vaulted entrance hall.

The first floor was the main focus, creating a spacious lounge area for the family to enjoy and we fitted a huge beam to open up the space. The dormer window was specifically designed to make the most of the panoramic view over the North Downs.

Mark and Ellen were so pleased with our quality of work that we were asked to come back and replace all three bathrooms in the house.
A layout solution for the main bathroom wasn’t easy to achieve, so we suggested taking down a built-in cupboard from the neighbouring bedroom and moving the bathroom door, which opened up the space, allowing the perfect layout.
We suggested a free-standing bath, which gave the room the wow factor.
We installed electric underfloor heating in all 3 bathrooms to give that cosy feel desired underfoot.
We used Orbit in 2023 to complete a full height extension. They came recommended and were approachable and accommodating of our needs from the start. They’re friendly and very easy to work with (we lived on site throughout) and were understanding of our need to make the living space safe for our young children.
Throughout the project Lee and Olly helped with design questions and both of them have an amazing eye for what will enhance a room - some of my favourite features are ones that they suggested. They are good at suggesting ideas which improved the build and are also great problem solvers - when an issue arose (due to previous pipework), they worked extra to make sure it was resolved. I was genuinely very impressed with their desire to make our house as good as it could be and to our needs and style (they adapted their work to reflect our personal style preferences).
The quality of their workmanship is excellent (for example, compared with previous builders that we’ve used) and there isn’t a day where I don’t notice the level of detail and quality of the work that they’ve done (even now, 18 months on). We were so impressed with them that we commissioned Orbit to re-do three bathrooms in our house in 2024, another very successful project. One of the bathrooms included changing the layout and they were very helpful with suggestions, and another included a drainage problem which they were relentless in solving!
They’re very skilled, but if external expertise is needed then they make sure their contractors provide the same standard of quality. They are also very transparent with fees and were good communicators throughout the projects. They are incredibly hard workers and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
